21st State Level Children’s Science Congress, 2013
The 21st State Level National Childrens’ Science Congress was organized in the knowledge campus of Templecity Institute Of Technology And Engineering from 28th to 30th nov,2013. The subject chosen for this year was” ENERGY: EXPLORE, HARNESS, CONSERVE” . Nearly 400 child scientists from district level children science congress of all the 30 districts of Odisha and 4 Tribal zones have participated in this Childrens’ Science Congress.
The NCSC Flag was hoisted by Sri Niranjan Sahoo ,Collector cum District Magistrate , Khordha, in the morning and the function was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of School and Mass Education, Sri Rabi Narayan Nanda, under the chairmanship of Prof. Trilochan Pradhan, Eminent scientist and educationist,Hon’ble MP,Bhubaneswar, Dr.Prasanna ku.Patasani was the chief speaker and the key note was presented by Dr. R.N Ray, Chairman National Childrens’ Science Congress followed by cultural programme by the participants. On the 2nd day there was an interaction session between the child scientist and the real eminent scientist of Odisha.The meeting was chaired by very renowned guest scientist like Dr.Ajit Srivastav, Prof.S.N.Torasia, Dr. Chittaranjan Mishra, Dr. Priyadarshi Tripathy and Prof.Dr.Narayan Sahoo.In the valedictory ceremony Sri Siddhant das, MD,OFDC was the chief speaker under the chairmanship of Sri Haraprasad Das, eminent poet and executive president,TITE. The prizes were given by Dr.P.K Mishra,Chairman ,Knowledge Trust, Dr. Chittaranjan Mishra, Secretary, Knowledge Trust, and Dr. Priyadarshi Tripathy, Director, Knowledge Trust, and Prof.Dr. Narayan Sahoo,Principal ,TITE. At last the vote of thanks was given by Sri Balakrushna Sahoo,Registrar.. The programme was a grand success with the whole hearted support n dedication of all the staffs of TITE,TIBS And MITC.
State Level Annual English Essay Competition, 2013
TempleCity Institute of technology and engineering organized a state level annual English essay competition for Intermediate students in its campus on107th Nov, 2013 in which several students from different +2 colleges of the state participated. The participants exhibited and explored their insight into the different strands of value education and the involvement of youth in it. It was one of the remarkable competitions across the state and the cash prizes of Rs.15000/-, Rs.10000/-, Rs5000/- were awarded to Md. Ashfaque Aman of Kalinga bharati residential college, Swagat Dash of Regional College of Science and Technology and Payosmi Mishra of College of Basic science and Humanities,OUAT, Bhubaneswar.
Largest State Level English Debate Competition in India for Engineering and Technology students in Odisha.
The TempleCity Institute of Technology & Engineering organized a State level English Debate Competition for students of Engineering & Technology on 8.9.2013 in its Knowledge Campus at Barunei (Khurdha). 46 students nominated by their respective Colleges participated in the Competition. Sri Snehasis Mishra of IIIT Bhubaneswar, Sri Ashirbad Panda of IGIT, Sarang and Miss Tadasha Tripathy of GEC, Bhubaneswar secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively and was awarded Rs.50,000/-, Rs.30,000/- and Rs.20,000/- respectively as a token of appreciation. This Debate is an annual debate to be held every year with a view to enhancing the skills of Logic, argumentation and presentation of issues by the students of Engineering & Technology who would be joining the Corporate Sector/ Government on completion of their education.
This Debate has been planned in the back drop of increasing awareness that students of Technology are generally deficient in speaking skills leading to the systematic loss of persuasive and reasoning ability. The Debate was judged by a High level elite panel consisting of Hon’ble Justice Nityananda Prusty, Chairman, Orissa Administrative Tribunal, Prof. Sukadev Nanda, former Vice Chancellor, Fakir Mohan University, Mr. Rajaram Satpathy, Bureau Chief, Times of India and Prof. Prafulla Kumar Mohanty, eminent critique and former principal of Ravenshaw College. This Debate would be an annual feature. High Prize money is expected to enthuse and inspire students of Technology & Engineering to develop their speaking and argumentation skills which will be of invaluable help to them in their career.
ISTE day celebration on 21st May, 2013
TITE celebrated the ISTE day in its campus on Tuesday, 21st May, 2013 at the Conference Hall. Dr. Priyadarshi Tripathy, Director, TITE, Mr. Balakrishna Sahoo Registrar, TITE, graced the occasion with their august presence. Other esteemed guests too embellished the event were Dr. Narayan Sahoo, Principal, TITE & Prof. G.C. Panda, Vice-Principal, TITE. The programme started with the lighting of the lamps by the Principal & Vice-Principal, who shared their views about the day. Mr. Khageswar Sahoo, faculty advisor, ISTE student chapter, introduced the day to the gathering. Prizes were given away at the end to the winners of the different events. The Hallmark of the function was the Odishi Dance performs by Ms. Shreya Chakrabarthi. Finally the program ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sanghamitra Parija, Secretary, ISTE Chapter.
Dr. Manideepa Pattnaik visited TITE
A talk on ‘progressive Communication ’in academic deliberation’ by Dr. Manideepa Pattnaik was held on 18th May, 2013 at conference hall of the institute. During the interaction, Ms. Pattnaik highlighted some of the techniques and approach regarding conducting research and writing a thesis. She also put some insight regarding some of the basic nuances of research while opting a topic, choosing a guide and of course writing on various segments in making a proper cauterization of that particular topic.
