Advisory Committee

The promoters of the TITE visualize the need to have National Advisory Committee with persons of repute in Academics, technology and industry in bringing latest innovations in technical education in this age of globalization. This would also help in making proper changes in the course curriculum to meet the changing needs of the industry. The following Advisory Committees have been constituted for this purpose.

International Advisory Board:
An international advisory board, comprising academicians and corporate heads of national and international repute, advises and guides the trust in building world-class Institute.

Dr. Aparajita Misra received a Ph. D in Theoretical Physics from City College of New York in 1991. After receiving her Ph.D, she taught undergraduate Physics and Mathematics courses at NJIT before joining the Systems Engineering team in Telcordia Technologies (Formerly known as Bellcore) in 1995. She joined Alcatel-Lucent (formerly known as Lucent Technologies) in 1997 and has spent most of her tenure in Systems Engineering department of the Wireless Organization. She has developed many features in TDMA, CDMA and EV-DO by writing requirements and by creating oversight. For the Verizon LTE deployment, she was responsible for driving the feature set for OA&M (Operations, Administration and Maintenance). Since May 2010, she has been working a solution architect primarily for LTE Public Safety project. She is the single technical point of contact for LTE Public Safety activities during deployment. She provides technical oversight for phases starting from technical definition, design, development, deployment, integration and transition to operations by being actively engaged at every step of the process.

Prof. Bud Mishra is a professor of computer science and mathematics at NYU's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, professor of human genetics at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, and a professor of cell biology at NYU School of Medicine. He founded the NYU/Courant Bioinformatics Group, a multi-disciplinary group working on research at the interface of computer science, applied mathematics, biology, biomedicine and bio/nano-technologies. Prof. Mishra has a degree in Physics from Utkal University, in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur, and MS and PhD degrees in Computer Science from Carnegie-Mellon University. He has industrial experience in Computer Science (Tartan Laboratories, and ATTAP), Finance (Tudor Investment and PRF, LLC), Robotics and Bio- and Nanotechnologies (OpGen, and Bioarrays). He is editor of Molecular Cancer Therapeutics, AMRX (Applied Mathematics Research Exchange), Nanotechnology, Science and Applications, and Transactions on Systems Biology, and author of a textbook on algorithmic algebra and more than two hundred archived publications. He has advised and mentored more than 45 graduate students and post-docs in the areas of computer science, robotics and control engineering, applied mathematics, finance, biology and medicine.

He is an inventor of Optical Mapping and Sequencing (SMASH), Array Mapping, Copy-Number Variation Mapping, Model Checker for circuit verification, Robot Grasping and Fixturing devices and algorithms, Reactive Robotics, and Nanotechnology for DNA profiling. He is a fellow of both IEEE and ACM and a NYSTAR Distinguished Professor (2001). He also holds adjunct professorship at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai, India. Dr. Biswajit Mishra is a research scientist in Institute of Micro Technology at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland. Prior to joining EPFL, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor in IIST, India (2009-2010) and a postdoctoral research fellow (2007-2009) in Electronic Systems and Devices group in School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. He received his B. Engg from National Institute of Technology (formerly MREC, Jaipur, India) in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 1996 and Masters in Science in Microelectronic Systems Design from University of Southampton, UK in 2003. He received his Ph.D. from the University Southampton, UK in 2007 for his foundational research in Geometric Algebra Hardware and Applications. In 2010 he joined the EPFL-IMT-Electronics and Signal Processing Lab, Neuchatel. In a previous life, he has worked for Philips Semiconductors and Cadence (Tality) Design Systems as an R&D Engineer. His research contributions include publications on Ultra Low Power Circuits, Ultra Low Power Digital Signal Processing Circuits at Sub threshold Voltages for biomedical and WSN applications, Geometric Algebra Hardware and Image Processing Applications. more>>

Dr. Dev R. Sainani, P.Eng. has over twenty years experience as an executive management consultant to a wide variety of public and private sector industry verticals. He established The SAINA Group (TSG), which has undertaken assignments for foreign governments, public and private sector enterprises and not for profit organizations. He has held a number of leadership positions in senior executive and technical roles. He is recognized for his multi-sector industry experience in strategy, organizational design and change, capacity building and technology visioning and is regularly invited to speak on topics such as global sustainability, innovation and future challenges. Dr. Sainani's volunteer commitment to the Ontario Trillium Foundation began in July 2005, when he was appointed to the Thames Valley Grant Review Team.
In education, Dev spans both Biology and Engineering. He has a B.Sc. in Human Genetics/Biology from McGill and a B. Eng. Sci., (Electrical) from UWO. He continued on to a M. Eng. Sci., (Biomed/Electrical) and a Ph.D.in (Med. Biophys.)from UWO. He was with IBM Global Services, specialising in the healthcare and higher education sectors. While with IBM, Dev developed a series of eBusiness and eHealth courses which he taught to over 7000 IBM professionals worldwide. For a number of years he was a faculty member at the Univ. of Western Ontario.

Dr. Goutam Chakraborty is a Professor & Head of the Intelligent Informatics Lab at the Iwate Prefectural University, Japan. He was a faculty member of the University of Aizu in Japan and worked a scientist in the department of telecommunication, Government of India. He teaches courses in information science, programming languages, operating system, computer literacy and more than one hundred archived publications. His research interests include neural networks, genetic algorithm, multimedia communication, computer networking and data mining. He received his undergraduate degree in Physics from Presidency College, Calcutta. B. Tech and M. Tech degrees in Electronics and Communication from Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, Calcutta, and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Communication from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. He is a senior member of IEEE and lifetime member of ACM. Dr. Kshirasagar Naik is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He was a faculty member of the School of Computer Science at Carleton University in Ottawa and the University of Aizu in Japan. He teaches courses in software engineering, software testing, distributed computing, computer networks, and mobile systems. His research interests include computer network protocols, wireless and mobile communication systems, sensor networks, peer-to-peer networks, cognitive radio systems, energy saving in hand-held devices and data centers, delay tolerant networks, body-area networks, mHealth and eHealth applications, vehicular networks, and intelligent transportation systems. He received his undergraduate degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from Sambalpur University in India, M. Tech degree in Computer Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, M. Math degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Concordia University in Montreal. Kshirasagar Naik is a member of IEEE since 1994. Dr. Lalu Mansinha has been on the faculty at the University of Western Ontario. He is a geophysicist, with research and teaching interest that span the very large (Earthquake Seismology and Global Geophysics) to the very small (Spectral Analysis and Image Processing). He has degrees (Bachelors and Masters) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and a PhD in Physics from the Univ. of British Columbia. He is the Director of the Ontario Maharashtra Goa (OMG) Student Exchange Program, on behalf of a consortium of 15 Ontario universities. more>>

Dr. Pradeep K. Dhal is a Scientific Fellow at Genzyme Corporation in Waltham, Massachusetts, where he has been working since 1996. In this role, Pradeep provides scientific leadership for Genzyme's efforts to discover and develop novel (bio)therapeutics and biomaterials and acts as a technical advisor to senior management to evaluate external opportunities. Pradeep's prior professional experiences include Senior Scientist at Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Scientist at National Chemical Laboratory in Pune, and Research Associate at Unilever (India) Ltd in Mumbai. Pradeep received his undergraduate training from Utkal University and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He had carried out postdoctoral research in organic and polymer chemistry at Heinrich Heine University, Dusseldorf, Germany and in applied chemical biology/biochemical engineering at California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California.
Pradeep's awards include Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship, National Merit Scholarship of Government of India, Best paper award from the Separation Division of American Institute of Chemical Engineers, gold medal from CSIR (India) and Vice President Award from Genzyme for innovative research. He has served on the editorial board of Journal of Macromolecular Science and has been a reviewer for several international journals in the areas of chemistry, materials science & engineering, drug delivery, and chemical biology. He has served on the scientific advisory board of numerous international conferences, and has given invited talks at several international conferences and universities in the US, Europe, Japan, and India. He is the co-inventor of more than 40 granted and filed US patents and over 25 international patent applications. He has published over 80 research papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Pradeep is a member of American Chemical Society, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Materials Research Society, and Society for Biomaterials.

Dr. Prasanna (Ron) Sahoo is a Professor of Mathematics at University of Louisville, KY, USA. He has a Masters degree in Mathematics from the University of Regina, Canada and a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo at Waterloo, Canada. His research has focused on the theory of functional equations, information theory and digital image segmentation and compression. He is an associate editor of three journals: Journal of Mathematical Analysis, Journal of Information and Mathematical Sciences and International Journal of Nonlinear Analysis and Applications. He is the coauthor of four books: Characterizations of Information Analysis, Mean Value Theorems and Functional Equations, Image Processing with MATLAB: Application in Medicine and Biology, Introduction to Functional Equations and more than two hundred archived publications. Dr. Prasanta Panigrahi is a Professor at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata, India. He was a faculty member at Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad and the University of Hyderabad at Central University Campus, Gachibowli, India. He teaches courses in quantum computing, quantum mechanics, mathematical methods, field theory, general relativity, lie groups. His research interests include quantum computation and quantum information, wavelet transform, nonlinear dynamics, Bose-Einstein condensates, non-commutative field theory and many body physics, cold fermions and published more than one hundred research articles. He received his undergraduate degree in Physics from Ravenshaw College in India, M. Sc. degree in Physics from Utkal University, Ph.D. degree in Field Theory from Rochester in New York, and postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Illinois, Chicago and University of Montreal, Canada. more>>

Dr. Punya Mishra is Professor and Director of Master's Program in Educational Technology at Michigan State University. He has an undergraduate degree from BITS Pilani, Masters degrees from the Industrial Design Center, IIT Mumbai, and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research has focused on the theoretical, cognitive and social aspects related to the design and use of computer based learning environments. His contributions to the field have been described as being "the most significant advancement in the area of technology integration in the past 25 years." He has received over $4 million in grants from national and international agencies and has published over 45 peer-reviewed research journals and book chapters, and has edited two books. Dr. Mishra is an award winning teacher and has taught master's and doctoral courses at Michigan State, Indian School of Business (Hyderabad), and Twente University (the Netherlands). He has received many awards for his teaching, including the MSU Teacher Scholar Award, the College's Teaching Excellence Award, and the AT&T award for Instructional Technology. Dr. Mishra is also an accomplished visual artist and poet. more>>

Prof (Dr.) Satya P. Das , Planning Unit, Indian Statistical Institute - Delhi Centre. He has done his graduation in Economics from Utkal University, India, M.A. in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, India and Ph.D. in Economics from Southern Methodist University, U.S.A. His area of research is mainly focused on Economics of Terrorism, Economics of Cricket, International Trade and Distribution, Endogenous Growth and Development, Administrative Efficiency of Taxation. His contribution in these fields is more than 22 years as a Professor in different universities of USA. He has published many research journals and book chapters in different national and international journals, newspapers, magazines and edited three volumes of books. He is also the Editor of Indian Growth and Development Review, Associate Editor of Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and he is in the Editorial Board of New Zealand Economic Papers, as well as Trade and Development Review. more>>

Mr. Dilip Mohapatra currently holds the assignment of Vice President, Global Learning & Development (L&D) at Suzlon Energy Ltd. Prior to this assignment, he was Director, Tata Management Training Centre and VP, Learning, Tata Group HR, which was preceded by the assignment of Global Head, L&D at Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS). Before that he worked as Commodore in Indian Navy. During an illustrious naval career of 28 years, he held various assignments in areas of HRD & training, leadership development, recruitment, manpower planning, operations, logistics and general management. Important appointments include faculty at College of Defence Management, Secunderabad, and Deputy General Manager, Management Services, as well as Head of HR at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. Commodore Dilip Mohapatra has been decorated with the President's Vishist Seva Medal (VSM) in 1997 for distinguished services rendered in the field of Management Education for the three Defence Services, during his eight year tenure as a faculty member of College of Defence Management. He has been conferred with the Indira Super Achievers Award 2007, by the Indira Group of Institutes at Pune for his exemplary contributions to the HR profession in general. He is also the recipient of the Learning & Development Leadership Award 2009-2010, instituted by the Employer Branding Institute and MITCON Achiever's Award 2011. He holds two masters degrees, an MSc in Physics and an MMS.
