Overview

The Research & Development (R & D) Cell is established to promote research culture among faculty members and students. Its main function is to establish connections with the outside world and to advance research via a variety of publications. It creates a supportive atmosphere for technical advancement and keeps an eye on the college's research endeavors. The R & D Cell creates an environment that will attract the finest talent. It works tirelessly to pool talents and internal resources, develop strategies, overcome obstacles, and make the College proud to be among the top colleges in the state and the country.

Objectives of R&D Cell

To create awareness and R&D opportunities among the students and faculty members.

To promote research and R&D projects including multidisciplinary ones.

To create interest and atmosphere among the staff members to take up research projects and improve their knowledge, skills, and qualifications by registering for Ph. Ds.

To assist the faculty members and students for applying to agencies to grant fund for conducting research projects for various funding agencies.

To assist the faculty members and students for Research Papers Publication / Presentation in reputed journals /Conferences/book chapters and to file patents.

Roles and Responsibilities

To conduct regular Seminars, Workshops and Staff Development Programs.

To Collaborate with Industries, Reputed Academic Institutes and different R&D Centers to encourage Innovation and Research.

To encourage the faculty members and students to participate in seminars, conferences, and project presentations and to publish their research findings in Journals/conferences/book chapters.

Implementation Strategies:

The committee shall meet at regular intervals to review the research related activities and initiatives.

An institutional R&D policy shall be formulated and updated periodically to align with national regulation.

All the documents related to publications, collaborations and funding shall be maintained by R&D cell.

The R&D cell shall collaborate with Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development cell to support startups.

Research and Development Policy

In summary, a research policy is vital for establishing a research environment in a college that promotes innovation, teamwork, and high standards. It aids in guaranteeing that research endeavors are performed with the utmost levels of integrity and adherence to regulations, and that the findings of research are shared and applied for the advantage of society. This policy outlines the rules and regulations that must be followed when conducting different research activities and standards associated with safe and ethical research practices. This policy promotes accountability and transparency in research practices.

This policy seeks to create a structure for encouraging and aiding research efforts among faculty, students, and staff. The research policy offers a comprehensive structure for tasks related to research with the following aims:

Objectives:

To recognize and notify all researchers regarding the research opportunities present in academia, industry, government, and research institutions.

To create a supportive atmosphere and encouragement for engaging in interdisciplinary projects and studies.

To aid in showcasing the research efforts at academic gatherings like national/international conferences and improve the quality of research publications.

To set up a center of excellence in collaboration with industries and develop processes for planning and executing joint research initiatives.

To create a sustained partnership with research entities to expand the range of research prospects and funding avenues accessible to the academic community.

To foster collaborative research across all academic programs and enhance internal funding for research and consultancy services.

To gain membership in esteemed professional organizations and enhance connections with the industry and other globally recognized institutions.

To guarantee the quality of all research endeavors at the college and to uphold the utmost standards of ethics and integrity in their research practices

Policy Guidelines

The following guidelines shall apply to all research activities in the college: Research Integrity: All research endeavors should be carried out with utmost integrity and strict compliance with ethical standards. Researchers are required to adhere to all applicable laws and regulations related to research, including the Institutional Review Board (IRB) standards for studies involving human participants Funding: The College will ensure sufficient financial support for research initiatives from both internal and external funding sources. Researchers are required to seek grants and various funding sources via the research and development cell, which will offer assistance and guidance in creating grant proposals Intellectual Property: The College acknowledges the significance of safeguarding intellectual property rights that emerge from research endeavors. Researchers are required to adhere to the college's intellectual property policy and sign agreements that transfer ownership rights to the college or other entities, as necessary

Research Collaboration:

The college promotes collaborative research across disciplines among faculty, students, and staff. The research office will promote this collaboration by establishing chances for shared research initiatives and organizing research seminars and conferences.

Research Dissemination:

The College acknowledges the significance of sharing research findings with both the academic community and the public. Researchers are required to disseminate their findings in respected academic journals and showcase their work at both national and international conferences. The college will offer assistance for publishing research findings and arranging research seminars and conferences

Research Facilities and Resources:

The college will supply sufficient research facilities and resources, such as laboratories, equipment, and software, to assist research endeavors. The research office will manage the distribution of research resources and guarantee their efficient and effective use.

Reporting and Evaluation:

The college will mandate researchers to routinely report on their research efforts and results. The research office will oversee and assess research activities and results to guarantee adherence to college policies and to recognize areas for enhancement.

Policy:

A research interest group should be established based on shared research interests, fields, and skills. This team will be of an interdisciplinary character.

All faculty members should aim to publish high-quality research papers in journals indexed by IEEE, SCI, Web of Science, Springer, Scopus, UGC CARE that have a significant impact factor.

All Assistant Professors are required to publish a minimum of one paper in a national or international journal or conference with a significant impact factor or UGC CARE journal annually.

All Associate Professors and Professors are required to publish a minimum of two articles in the refereed international journals specified in Policy No. 2 and one research paper in a high impact factor national/international journal or conference, or in a UGC CARE journal.

Final year projects must emphasize research that is interdisciplinary and should result in at least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

TITE will set up a minimum of one centre of excellence in the key research areas in partnership with the industry. This facility can be made available to researchers and faculty from various organizations and industries.

Faculty will be encouraged to engage in collaborative and interdisciplinary research initiatives and secure funding from organizations and industry.

Additional workshops, seminars, and conferences will be arranged in collaboration with professional organizations, industries, and funding agencies to discuss opportunities in R&D.

Consultancy:

All departments are required to design a brochure that showcases their skills in offering training and consultancy services to industries and various institutions.

The Consultancy efforts will be encouraged via alumni, recruiters, social media, and the corporate network.

The department will establish an MOU to leverage resources and infrastructure, including equipment, testing, and laboratory facilities, with the funding organizations.

The status updates of the consultancy projects and budget expenditure reports must be submitted regularly to the R&D department.
